"A Star Trap" was published 1908 in Stoker's second collection of short stories Snowbound: The Record of a Theatrical Touring Party. In 1973 it appeared in The Bram Stoker Bedside Companion edited by Charles Osborne, in 1990 it appeared in Midnight Tales edited by Peter Haining and in 1997 it appeared in Best Ghost and Horror Stories edited by Richard Dalby, Stefan Dziemianowicz and S. T. Joshi.
Alternate title When "A Star Trap" was republished in Midnight Tales the title was changed to "Death in the Wings." Incorrect information In his book Midnight Tales Peter Haining claimed that this story appeared in November 1888 in Collier's Magazine (New York) under the title "Death in the Wings."
