"The Secret of the Growing Gold"

is a short story by Bram Stoker. It was first published in the January 23, 1892 issue of the newspaper Black and White: A Weekly Illustrated Record and Review, London. It was reprinted in the October 14, 1892 issue of Bow Bells:A Family Magazine of General Literature, London.

After its appearance in Black and White, "The Secret of the Growing Gold" was reprinted in at least five newspapers in Australia and the UK. It appeared as follows:

    This story was first published in book form in 1914 in Stoker's third collection of short stories Dracula's Guest And Other Weird Stories, George Routledge & Sons, Ltd., London. In 1973 it appeared in The Bram Stoker Bedside Companion, Victor Gollancz Ltd, London, and in 1997 it appeared in Best Ghost and Horror Stories, Dover Publications, Inc., New York.

    Periodical publication

    "The Secret of the Growing Gold" was also published in the US in a monthly magazine. It appeared in the December 1933 issue of Weird Tales, Chicago.
