"The Secret of the Growing Gold" was first published in book form in 1914 in Stoker's third collection of short stories Dracula's Guest And Other Weird Stories. In 1973 it appeared in The Bram Stoker Bedside Companion edited by Charles Osborne and in 1997 it appeared in Best Ghost and Horror Stories edited by Richard Dalby, Stefan Dziemianowicz and S. T. Joshi.
Periodical publication "The Secret of the Growing Gold" was first published in the January 23, 1892 issue of the newspaper Black and White (London). It was also published in the December 1933 issue of the magazine Weird Tales (Chicago) and in the August 1946 issue of the magazine Famous Fantastic Mysteries (New York).
